Looks like Editors have swapped the dark, angular guitar game for the dark, robotic, Euro-disco game. This is "Papillion", one of the newies that they've been dropping on this summer's festival circuit and on the English leg of R.E.M.'s stadium tour. It's definitely got me open to check out the new Flood-produced record in October...but it's no "Fingers in the Factories".

NSR: Editors "Papillon"

GGGAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!! NO! Them too?!
What the hell happened to music England? Can't we leave this stuff to The Killers...or The Bravery? Gross.
C'mon now you can't put The Killers in the same category as The Bravery. The Bravery are total bandwagon guys who were in ska bands before dancing got cool for minute ( although they had 2 decent singles).
Forgive me, I'm in a state of shock. First Bloc Party goes bonkers, then Yeah Yeah Yeah's (not that they're English)abomination of an album, now even Editors have gone goofy. Next up, The Strokes will record an album with Stuart "Jaques Lu Cont" Price and the party will be complete. BAH!
I have a theory on this. What happens is as soon as these bands get a little fame and start touring they start spending more and more time in dance clubs after shows. The influence of the beat just seeps in...it's s inevitable as a Brian Hall bad call.
Sorry Faux Fur, but I'm going to go on the record and say Bloc Party are only getting better with age.
And I can't help wonder what Ian Curtis would think of all his impersonators. He'd probably hang himself.
Bones...starved of flesh...surround my aching heart.

"Bones" is an anthem tune.
You never know, Faux Fur. Pharell said that he wants to produce the next Strokes album. As shocking as that would be.
This guy sounds like Ian Curtis, and this sounds like an New Order track musically. (I know Ian Curtis killed himself before New Order). I dont know, i kind of like this. Bloc Party has definitely weirded out though
It's not that I wholly dislike the Bloc's last album. I just wish it was recorded by someone else. Had "Intimacy" come from some random new band, I probably would have been all over it. But when a band can put together something as perfect as "Silent Alarm", I (selfishly) just don't want to see them stray too far.
As far as The Strokes...I'm the biggest Neptunes fan alive, but no thanks on that one. A one-off Casablancas x Neptunes solo album would be dope, though.
Looks like I'm in the minority, but I'm all for bands branching out and trying new things. Not that this is a huge step for Editors. It seems like they have always been a step away from new wave type material anyways.
I hope they stop in Atlanta, GA on their next tour.
I've doing the same work in my personal blog and I think we can share a lot of videos together, specially if we're posting the same content, anyway you are a good blogger and I could bet this blog is one of the best. 2j3j
Little doubt, the dude is completely just.
