Johnny Exantus Leaves RBNY Youth System for Europe

Johnnyx

Johnny Exantus has been in the Red Bulls Academy since it was the Metrostars Academy. He was supposed to be the next hot young prospect to come out of a system that produced Jozy Altidore and Micheal Bradley. But that's not to be as some 4th division Belgians have got him now. Whatever happened to all that talk of the investment in the youth system and how children were our future yadda yadda yadda that was going around a short time ago?

The espn linked article fails to mention at all that if a person trains under an MLS academy for at least 24 months, then he can avoid the draft and sign a contract with the academy's MLS club right off the bat

Possibly because the article came out about 9 months before that ruling was made.

Not just a Belgian club. A 4th division Belgian club...I guess the Turkmmenistan league wasn't an option.

Looks like Johnny Exantus is going to college:

"The Heidelberg/RRFCM Academic & Sporting Academy offers students the opportunity to develop professional level soccer skills in a European setting while working towards a bachelor degree in Business and/or Sports Management from Heidelberg College, an accredited university in the United States."

Someone Fire Agoos

It is clear that he has no clue how to run a team or what the hell he is doing as GM.

FACT: Every time you sign a player to a Gen Adidas contract, a baby dolphin is sold into prostitution.

That's why Agoos is so reluctant to do it.

Ummm...maybe that's because he is the Sporting Director, not the GM, which btw, RBNY does not have either. They do however, have a Managing Director.

Too bad Goose can't just waive his magic wand and control all of the miriad of factors that determine the choices a young player makes.
