So we're finally at the point were I give a damn about Euro 08. TOR is throwing it's unsubstantial weight behind the Portuguese, and not just because they are playing almost as pretty at the Dutch or because their women are the only thing at the tournament that is prettier than the Dutch.
It's because I just hate the Germans something serious. It's partially because I still haven't gotten over this and I may never get over it. I will never root for the Germans under any circumstance; I might put on a sombrero and a lucha libre mask before I ever even contemplated sporting lederhosen. I loathe them that much.
When asked who he would support just before Germany played Brazil in the 2002 World Cup, author Nick Hornby said that most English people would root for the Taliban All Star team before they took up the German cause. I'm not English but today you can call me Prince Charles.
Go Portugal.

I'm no fan of Der Frankfurters, but I find it very hard to pull for Portugal.
As a Devils fan, I'd like to be a part of a group of SMU football players and go Combat Ki on C. Ron's pretty-boy face and Shelly Long neck.
As much as I hate the Germans, I actually admire them as a footballing nation. My beloved Bleus built a giant HUD home on the pitches of Austria, and so I'm left without a team.
Consequently, I will support the Dutch. And I am an upright supporter of the (hot) women of Portugal and Holland.
I was never a fan of Germany or Germans (plenty of asshole Germans in my family to sour me on the country), until I went to WC06. Everyone we met was awesome, friendly, etc. And it was super fun to watch the Germany vs Sweden match in a cuh-ray-zee Koln altstadt.
So even though I was supporting Polska (based on nothing other than my surname being Polish), now that they're out I'm supporting Germany.

Yeah I don't mind Germany, I've got some in my background. I can't hate them for the handball on Frings that killed the US. I wanted the call and was furious as a huge US supported, but thats on the ref more than Germany.
And just to be clear, i have no beef with the German citizenry at large. Just the one's that suit up for the national team.
