Jozy? Ego-Trippin'? Say It Ain't So!

jozyshadow

I've only had the chance to meet Jozy Altidore once. At the time of meeting him I said that "Jozy Altidore is an adult in both physical stature and demeanor." He was measured, accommodating and polite. I can only dream that my kid behaves like that at his age.

But that was then and I don't what's going on now. People are saying that the burgeoning fame is going to the kid's head and it's kinda got me bummed out if true. Everyone get on your knees and pray to the God of your choice --perhaps the one that going to be dropping blessings on the HDC on June 7th-- and pray that Eddie Johnson Syndrome is non-communicable.

don't perpetuate this crap. Ives must have been hurting for a story line.

Rubbish!

Why is it rubbish? I hate when people evaluate something and don't say why!

He is clearly unsettled at Red Bull. The sooner he gets transferred out the better for him. Also his coach isn't an offensive genius and NY is failing to put up goals this year like they did last year. This has a lot to do with Osorio's tactics as well as the injuries.

The article's opinion appears to be completely fabricated. There are no stories of him buying into his fame just stories of him not practicing like he used to. Whatever that means since the article doesn't give any concrete examples of him being lazy within practice or even distracted. Just that he looks "more and more distracted". This article feels like Ives is reaching or that someone within Red Bull is trying to motivate Jozy via the press.

Uh, pardon this DC fan for not giving a crap.

Never did like the little ****er. :)

Yeah, weak story. The kid can play no question. I don't think there's anything to this - why not support the kid. Maybe he'll respond on his NY Times blog, but he's got better stuff to worry about. Sooner he leaves the MLS the better for him.

I liked how he scored the other day and didn't celebrate.

He seems like a sincere kid.

It's weird both ways. I don't think Ives would risk burning bridges without reason...he doesn't need a story for the sake of it. It all also seems way out of character for Jozy. Hopefully it is much ado about nothing.
