So yeah, TV cop and futbol fanatico Anthony LaPaglia wants to buy an MLS team to go along with his Australian team. And you wondered why there is a tag for "Celebrity Glory-Seekers". Yahoo's increasingly excellent Martin Rogers (who really IS the love child of Liev Schriber and Paul Rudd) has the story.
And for a bonus track, he's also given a bit of ink to "the world's most famous pub team", Hollywood United.

i got my shirt today...thanks.
i know it's off topic but have you heard much about the women's soccer league that's supposed to start up sometime next year?
i haven't heard a whole lot but it sounds like they're basically using the same market the MLS does..
Well. He doesn't want to buy a real MLS side. He wants to add a third team to LA. Whatever.
Maybe he should buy and re-brand Chivas USA?
I Love Rogers' column. He's doing a great job.
I just hope that his idiot colleagues like Wetzel are reading it and learning something before they run another ill-informed "Americans don't get soccer" column.
Yeah I like him as well. It's nice that there is some newish blood in the soccer writing world.
Thanks guys, appreciate the kind words. All the best, Martin Rogers - Yahoo! Sports.
